My Timeline - Currently Waiting on VA for Ratings

151 days in PEB and 101 days since found unfit. I’ve heard that legally they have to give you findings by 6mon/180 days in PEB. Does anyone know if that’s true or heard anything similar?

Nope. There's no actual law that governs this. Just DOD "policy," which is basically unenforceable.

Another update: put in a request with the White House VA hotline last week and they just got back to me. Apparently my exams were not done well and my case has been deferred as of 01FEB while they go through my medical records to make sure they give me the right ratings, this was started on 26JAN. I got a call from the congressional liaison stating I am one of the OLDEST pending proposed rating cases in the region so they have pulled my case and are actively working on it now. Hoping I don’t need any more VA exams..

Interesting, did they give you any expectations or just "its being worked"

Say i get my findings then i get orders for may 16 2023, is there a form to request a date say… march 16 2023?
Short answer.. no.

Long answer.. there are sometimes reasons to move dates to the right, such as a request by the command in a situation where they screwed something up and need more time. However, moving date to the left is almost always not going to happen. The Navy is having a hard enough time getting people processed correctly, with pay Accounts and DD214 and the rest of it, on the regular timeline. Attempting to pull a separation to the left by 2 months is a 100% guaranteed recipe for failure. I have zero faith in the system's ability to make that happen on time. You would be fighting with them until your original separation date of mid-may just to get your documentation straight.

So let’s say I wanted to do a Skillbridge, if they require 5-6 months for their program, how would I go about making sure I have that time available? I’m waiting for my ratings (at 56 days since found unfit/10 conditions with 1 referred) and would like to know if it’s something I should set up and potentially add time for.

Nimb, I can’t believe you’re still going through this! I’m frustrated for you. I’m glad you were able to get a response from your congressional rep but that is terrible news. Did your PEBLO reach out to you and let you know that’s what was happening with the review of your appointments or did you only find that out due to the representative digging into it?
Keep us updated…

My PEBLO has said nothing.. every time I email him he says “no updates sorry”. I have been calling and digging for weeks and finally got the congressional rep involved last week. It’s all been me, no one has gone out of their way to tell me anything. My MSC is great but I always have to contact first and wait days for a phone call. I expected this process to be a pain but this is exponentially worse than I could have imagined.
