Update -
I sent a sharply worded email to my MSC who has been terrible through this process, no communication etc. etc.
I demanded a full report with dates of my timeline so that I could properaly relay the information to my congressional representative. I already had an open case from an inquiry I filed in late January - but I figured this may light a fire if they thought that I was in the process of gathering more information to relay.
I got a call from the Supervisor of my MSC this morning doing his best in the damage control department. I ended up with his direct line and email and all I can say is they know my name now and that I am furious.
It’s apparently been “Assigned to a Decision Maker” which is the next step after being “Assigned a Rating Team” fun stuff.
The Gentleman told me this takes between 1-2 weeks. Once that process is complete it will go into a “Promulgation” stage for 1-2 days to have all decisions legally verified and then onto informing me.
There is no reason that this process should take this long beyond factors that they themselves have control of. I don’t want to hear staffing shortages or Covid Backlogs. The Department of the Navy is the only grouping of cases that seems to be taking so long. Contact your representatives, contact the VA Hotline and let them know this is unacceptable.
* This is just my word of advice for anyone going through this process - do not be afraid to advocate for yourselves. Demand the information you are entitled to. I wish I would’ve started much earlier in this process maybe my case would’ve moved faster had I started earlier, but nevertheless.*
