Opting out of MEB

I have reached my 20 years of service in the reserves. My MEB is in the NDES (non-duty related) system. Does anyone know if I can opt out and simply retire on my years of service?

Yes, you can always opt out and accept your traditional retirement if you have your 20-year letter- the same is true for Guardsmen and Reservists who have reached the 15-year mark. This option should have been outlined in the notice of the NDR MEB. Not to worry, you can make this choice.

Small addition.

No CRDP for 15-year retirement.

Thank you for the response. It is important to me that I get credit for my 20 years because I am already over 50% with the VA.
