TDRL Question

I have heard if mental health is one of your referred conditions, you will most likely be placed on TDRL. I have some questions about TDRL.
1. are you able to move away from your current location or home of record while on TDRL?
2. does TDRL effect any payments from the VA?
3. what are the chances they decide to bring you back to service, and what are ones obligations to do so?

3. Yes you can be RTD from TDRL. It doesn’t happen often.

TDRL does not impact payments from the VA as long as you agree to waive retired pay dollar for dollar in the amount of VA comp received. Otherwise, you will not receive VA compensation.

The waiver election is on the VA compensation application form.
You elect to waive the pay by NOT checking block 26.
