They don't bring you back from TDRL. You can be found fit, which ends your retirement benefits, and that gives you the option of going back through a recruiter to rejoin. If you choose not to, you're just a free civilian with a VA rating.I have heard that it is possible for the military to bring you back into active duty after TDLR. If they try do you know if we have to do it or do you have a choice?

Do all the services use "RE" codes on their DD214s? I am told when you get found fit from tdrl for Navy it clears the RE code on the DD214 that was previously preventing you from rejoining the service. Not sure how that works in other services besides navy.Info I did not know previously; thanks.

The VA was first so that’s how I was able to use the VA rating. My rating came in from the VA about 2 days after my C&P. About a week after my VA exam, I got the e-mail that I should be hearing from a base MTF to schedule my appointment. That’s when I created this thread and reached out to the TDRL team to see if I could use the VA’s C&P and rating for my disqualifying condition.@AppleJack I am the same scenario...TDRL and VA evals happening at once. Which one did you have first and how far were they apart?
The Army uses RE codes or at least they did while I was on AD.Do all the services use "RE" codes on their DD214s? @AppleJack thank you for the clarification. This helps a lot. did you have to forwarding your VA rating or was TDRL able to pull it up on their computers? Yeah they can pull it but you have to have had a C&P with the VA already and you need to reach out to them and notify them if they’re trying to schedule you with a MTF.@AppleJack thank you for the clarification.
