I tried signing up for TRICARE today and the only thing they said I was eligible for was retired reserve, its been a little over a month and while DFAS and the retirement and separation office have and see my disability retirement orders.... DEERs does not.... they (DEERS) suggested I goto an ID card / DEERS office and get the orders uploaded. Is it that simple or is there something else I need to do ?

Here is the verbiage from my order

You are released from assignment and duty because of physical disability incurred while entitled to basic pay and under conditions that permit your retirement for permanent physical disability.

Percentage of disability: 50%

Retirement type and allotment code: Permanent/12
Component: ARNG
Authority: AR 635-40
Statute authorizing retirement: 1204
Other eligible laws: Not Applicable
Disability retirement: 06 Year(s), 05 Month(s)
Basic Pay: 20 Year(s), 01 Month(s), 17 Day(s)

Any info or direction is greatly appreciated.

That is correct according to the plan finder.

Are you disputing that you are under the retired reserve plan? I do agree to go into a RAPIDS office.

Thanks for the reply,

When I told Tricare I was medically retired they didn’t see that and only could see that I was eligible for the retired reserve plan and not tricare select….. when I asked if it shows I was medically retired with 20 years they said no and suggested I goto a RAPIDS site and give them my paperwork and have them scan it into the system. ??
I believe retired reserve is Tricare for a non medical retirement ?

-confused……

You retired from the guard/reserve components, right?

Hmmm, from what I’ve read, select is eligible at 60 based on a regular retirement....if you haven't already, please call and speak with a Tricare representative.
