Unofficial Results

Hey there,

I received my unofficial results of "unfit" and was told i'm now in QA, I got my prelimary ratings about a month ago and now I was moreso curious if anyone has ever heard of PEB unofficial finding has turned to "Fit" after the QA Phase?

Not a whole lot of information on exactly what happens during each phase that i can find.

From how it was explained to me, you have a determination of fitness which is then followed by tentative results subject to change. I don't think the informal hearing has a fitness determination that is variable.

You can't get to the point of rating until you are found unfit, so I wouldn't worry about that part. I also haven't heard of someone getting their ratings back at the IPEB and then getting worse returns than they initially signed for, usually if they change it's for the better from what I've seen: E.G. informally accepted 40%, given 50% after everything is said and done.

Fit unfit is determined first. I’ve never heard of the IPEB backtracking on the fit unfit decision.

Appreciate the feedback, just the anxious mind and trust issues I guess haha.

I had assumed the same, guess it's time to start one of the final waiting times :D

Even if the PEB recommends retirement/separation, the waiting is not over.

QA was super fast, I signed my findings yesterday, just waiting on the message traffic now! Almost done!
Would you mind sharing when you were accepted to the PEB & when your findings came in if not yesterday? Assuming you're Navy from your traffic on other threads and mentioning LIMDU Smart. Trying to get a gauge on the speed of the PEB.

Yes, I am Navy.

I was submitted/accepted to the PEB January 29th and got my UNFIT notification the 26th of April.

About 3 months for you. Seems strange that the Navy seems to lag behind significantly more than the Marines. I would assume it's the same PEB between the two.

One would assume but yeah, we are a bit slow.
Now i am just trying to figure out info on this DTAP/MDB thing.... I got TAPS done but the paperwork stated MDB/DTAP was a separate requirement and can't seem to find anything on it at all.

I would contact your Fleet and Family Support Center. If the MDB/DTAP process is similar to what is required by the Air Force when separating, you will have a final sit-down with the support center staff, and they will generate a document that needs to be signed by your commander (squadron commander for the Air Force, but I am not sure of the Navy equivalent). That should take care of that requirement, assuming the Fleet and Family Support Center handles it like the Military and Family Readiness Center does in the Air Force.

That's a good start, sadly I am not at a naval base so coordinating this stuff has become a pain and a half. I am on the phone with the local Air Force Family Readiness right now.

Have you received your message yet? I’m exactly two weeks behind you and trying to gauge things. If so what date were you assigned?

what do you mean what happens after that
You have to get your orders, then you have to wait for those orders to take effect, then you have to make sure you're all set for transition, and then you have to wait for the money to actually hit your bank account. If you retire under TDRL you have to wait for your re-examination.

that makes sence thank you
