How did you find out that information? It seems like DOD is hard to get in contact with as far as finding an update with your case. Also that’s strange I thought the AF was doing good compared to other branches…

My package was sent to the VA around the 20th of August. It still isn’t closed out yet. But my PEB wasn’t sent until the 17th of September and I got the notification it was accepted on the 20th.

I was told that you should give them 35 days. So you should be hearing something pretty soon. They seemed to be going pretty fast with the August cases, not sure why they are slowing down now…

Why not see if your commander will approve you 6 months extra leave for you to meet your 20 year commitment? The worst they can say is no. Maybe contact the wounded warrior program, they have an internship. You could be doing that while on PTDY. Just a thought…

What about if your case was sent to the PEB before you got your VA ratings. My case was sent to the VA the 20th of August and sent to the PEB last week. I still don’t have my VA ratings. How can they match ratings that I don’t have?

Did they tell your commander about your ratings before they told you?

Can you explain the benefits you get from the VA since you won’t be a retiree. I think you’re able to fight it. Also if you don’t have a lot of claims it will go fast.

I was told 19 days for them to assign my ratings and after that they have a few days to notify me.
