Good day,
I am looking for advice or insight from anyone in a similar situation. I submitted my CRSC application to the Department of the Navy on 11-2023. I was told they normally take 16 months to decide on your application, and I recently emailed them for an update; they stated in December that it was in the adjudication phase and needed 30 more days. Has this timeline been the same for similar Navy/ Marine folks?
Lastly, I was Chapter 61, medically retired in August of 2023. DOD RAS at $858, DOD: 30%, 5 years & 9 months of total AD service, VA: 100% P&T (Spouse, 1 Dependent, 1 SMC-K- $136). I filled out all my paperwork regarding my reason for medical retirement and asthma, which gave me a 30% rating. I included all my VA rating paperwork, but I mainly oriented my CRSC application around asthma due to the PACT Act and the cause of this from "Instruments of War" during my time in Afghanistan. Should I expect a CRSC rating of 30% if I am approved? VA rating for this was 30% for asthma as well. I was diagnosed with PTSD and some other conditions that could be related to combat. But when I did my initial filing, I thought that CRSC was only for the condition that you were retired for and/or if it was combat-related. Would the CRSC board see my paperwork and possibly award me with these other combat-related disabilities that I didn't try and prove in my application? Or just the asthma, and will the CRSC be awarded at the same percentage? If they award me 30%, how much can I expect to receive in CRSC? Thanks.
Regards,
-Lev
