I've been in the Marines for close to 11 years and I injured my shoulder had surgery this past april. I'm not even close to 100% yet and my 3rd limited duty is coming to an end in Sept. I have to go see the Navy doc at the end of August. From what I've been hearing that if I'm not close to 100% by end of august they're gonna send me to PEB. I just want some insight about the board. I know I will be good between 85-100% around Jan time frame, will they take that into consideration? or since this has been a problem for over a year, try and discharge me. The thing is I don't want to be discharged I want to finish my career. I did 4yrs active duty 1 yr smcr and the rest IRR getting mobilized. Thank you for any help given.

If you can return to duty without limitations, you should either not be referred to MEB/PEB or you should be found fit by the PEB. Are your conditions in the line of duty?

Right now I can complete most of the pft (run & crunchs) but the pull-ups I can't right now and some of the cft I can't complete (ammo lift, buddy carry). I have always had a high pft but I kow by the time jan comes around I will be able to do all those things with no prob. But now if I go infront of the board in september I won't be able to. how will that play out? Once they do your paper work is there a wait until you see the board or is it like a week or 2 after they create your package?

Sounds like you should be fine for a fit for duty finding (or even just returning to duty without an MEB). If you are pretty much able to perform and have been improving, I would talk with the PCM, see if s/he will agree to not refer your case. If your command believes you can perform your duties, then you should have no problem with returning to duty.

As for your concerns about timing, it can take months just to complete the MEB. Same with IPEB. I would think January would be fairly optimistic for a FPEB date.
