Virtual IDES Timeline (NAVMEDCEN San Diego)

Congratulations! This gives me hope as my case was submitted on 29 May, and PEB requested VA ratings on 03 June. Hopefully I’ll hear something this week as well.
Let us know when your rating is out. Wish you all the best. I’m exactly 2 weeks behind you

Yes, it would put me at 100 if it was rated at 30% vice the 10% it's at currently. This is not the only claim I have that I feel is warranted to be higher. I also have ples planus which I believe should be rated at 50% vice the current 30%, which would put me at 100 as well. I also have a medical appointment this Friday to go over IBS symptoms, which I claimed, but wasn't deemed service connected. Hoping to get this evidence documented prior to submitting my FPEB request.

I do have a question about the FPEB. Is that a hearing that I need to be physically present for, or is it done remotely with my appointed attorney as my representation?
The FPEB is a remote teams meeting with the board, your attorney, and you.

UPDATE

After speaking with my attorney, I elected to NOT ACCEPT the findings of the IPEB and go with a Formal PEB. A lot of info with my case was missing the human factors, and residual effects stemming from my unfitting condition. The hope is that they would understand and use a higher rating or combine with additional ratings.

The plan right now is to continue gathering evidence and additional diagnoses so that when the time comes to submit my DD-214 to the VA, I would also attach the additional evidence and diagnoses as separate enclosures for review by the VA to increase my percentage to 100% (currently 93% rounded down to 90%).

Were you notified of that the VA had made its ratings (VA claim closed/letter sent portion above) before finding out your full ratings? I am currently waiting on my ratings (found unfit) and it seems like it is taking longer than normal, I'm pretty sure it's waiting on the VA still. (NARSUM sent to PEB 06JUN)

Seems it can take that long. My case was sent to PEB 05MAY. I received a letter earl June that my case was assigned to someone at the VA, but still haven't heard anything about ratings, fit/unfit, anything.

Your PEBLO is terrible. Should've been notified of an unfit finding. Wouldn't have been sent to the VA for ratings otherwise.

Is this true for all IDES cases? I've seen other comments about receiving VA ratings yet being found fit. I was told that they are two separate entities when it comes to fit/unfit (DoD) and ratings (VA).

From my understanding, and how my IDES counsel explained it to me. The DOD % is the combined VA percentage for all refered (Narsum) conditions. They aren't sperate entities. The DOD does not rate the refered conditions exclusively. It's all done by the VA. The DOD% is just refered conditions vs the VA ratings being all claimed conditions. Someone correct if wrong.

If I understand your question, then yes. Technically they did send my letter before the PEB notified me of my ratings. I could only get them by telling the VA rep on the phone that I needed my letter emailed to me. That letter was only the VA rating. Still had to wait for the PEB to officially deliver my findings and ratings to get my DoD percentage. But what was said is also correct. The DoD percentage is based on the unfitting condition that the VA rated.

You wont be notified of fit/unfit till the ratings come back, but at the same time if you are fit they wont rate you.
I was notified on an unfit finding. Many others as well. Seems as if this depends on PEBLO to PEBLO.

Great thanks. I'm curious how everyone knows the exact dates of things. My peblo told me I was found unfit (randomly one day when I asked), so I assume my stuff is with the VA, but when I call them (tried 3 different times) they give me different answers each time and dates that they were "ready for decision phase" from before I even sent my NARSUM in which doesn't make sense to me. When I ask if I was assigned a rater, it seems like it short-circuits their brain and they're not supposed to tell me, so they try to avoid answering it and sounds like they just ask a chat bot and then read info off a script that doesn't help give me info, it just makes me more confused.

Yeah so my PEBLO told me and my DES Counsel also has access to the system where they can see exactly when the PEB found unfit. The VA is completely separate. They take however long they take. they do read from a script, and they can't tell you the proposed ratings over the phone when they eventually say they sent the letter. Right now it sounds like you are very close to them releasing the letter.

Thanks so much for the info! I've seen people on here say they have called the VA and asked if they had been assigned a rater, do you know if that's accurate that they can tell you? or are those people just getting lucky with who they talked to.

No problem, take it from me, this experience has been a lesson in patience. I personally never asked if I had been assigned a rater, just if the ratings were done and if so when can I expect my letter to go out. Once the letter went out, I was able to have them send me a copy to my email address and they sent it that same day.

Today makes it 8 weeks my package was sent to PEB. That wait game is so crazy. I wonder why some people get their rating so quick. VA needs to change their way of doing their job or may be employ more hands.

I'm same timeline as you, 8 weeks. You start to think of all the worse case scenarios lol (sent you a DM btw)

Just saw today in the app that my VA claim was closed! Just about 9 weeks from when my NARSUM was sent off, to being found unfit and getting VA rating. Now just the return to the PEB for the DOD rating. Looks like in many cases this can be a week, so hopefully it matches how long others had to wait. I had just come to terms with being patient too and then it hit, guess it was a test all along lol

Wow! Congratulations. This week's Friday would make mine 9 weeks. Hopefully, by next week, my case should be closed. I'm patiently waiting for my ratings to be out. At this point, I think you can request your VA letter to see your percentage on each condition while waiting for your DoD. That will give you an idea of what your DOD would be like. I will update my timeline as soon as I see my case closed. I wish you all the best.

What date was your case sent to PEB?
