You are referring to VA compensation and not your DoD disability percentage, correct? I would go ahead and file for an increase, the most painless way is through va.gov. You don't necessarily have to start a new claim, va.gov has an option to file for an increase.

I wouldn't worry that much about TDRL. The vast, vast majority of the time you will end up PDRL within the next year or two. Good luck!

It is almost a certainty that you will be TDRL, however, as Chaplain Charlie pointed out, you will most likely never have to go back active duty unless you really really want to. Expect TDRL, then with a year or so you get another exam and usually PDRL after that.
