I am currently going through a world wide qualification medical evaluation through the Air Force reserve. I recently separated from Active Duty, Dec 2014, due to having debilitating migraines, but I separated early into the reserve so that I could still provide medical insurance for my family. I wanted to go through medical retirement, but the pain was too unbearable. I'm now in Reserve and my medical issues that took place on active duty are still affecting me. Now the reserve put me on a no points no pay status to medically separate me, but I believe I should be medically retired due to the conditions taking place while active. Moving forward, I currently have a VA rating of 60%. I've done research and feel that I should receive medical retirement. I also shouldn't have been cleared to join the reserve as I was under a neurologist care for my migraines. I put all the medications that I was currently taking on my separation form. I should have been sent to an MEB for determination of cleared for duty or medical separation or retirement. I feel I should have my separation called back and put through an MEB from active duty or be able to go through the MEB process from the Reserve. Can someone give me some insight as to what I may be able to do?
