Found Fit For Duty : PEB

Yesterday, I was notified by the PEBLO office that I have been found fit for duty after completion of the informal PEB. I was referred to a MEB for my lower back. I have a bulging, degenerating disc with arthritis along with nerve damage. I have been on LIMDU for over a year now, and I have gone through all avenues of treatment that has been provided. I cannot serve in my MOS due to the severity of the pain and limitations it gives me. I was completely expecting to be found unfit for duty, so the results were very shocking.

If anyone has any advice on how I could argue the findings, that would be greatly appreciated. I’m going to speak with my attorney as soon as possible to fight it but I was hoping for some advice from anyone who’s been in a similar scenario.

Thank you!

strange i was referred for the same diagnostics and I was found unfit, did you continue to seek treatment the whole duration of limdu??

I did continue to seek treatment. I went to physical therapy, pain management, and continued to take medication. None of it helped, and the last resort would’ve been surgery but I was denied the opportunity due to my age.

when was your case submited / accepted to the PEB? also what is your MOS?

My case was submitted to the MEB in April, and then sent to the PEB in late August. My MOS is Aviation Ordnance.
Makes me a little nervous because im on a med board for Low back pain, spondylolysthesis, degenerative disc disease and lower extremity radiculopathy... im a radio operator. Good luck to you keep us updated with what happens.

Might be outside of the window now for accepting/denying the findings, but you can request a Formal PEB where you have a chance to explain yourself and why you think it is duty connected. I had to do that as well for my back.
